Shebreh is the Best Choice!

A letter to the editor

By Steve Homan

Shebreh Kalantari-Johnson is exactly who we need on the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors. She has the right combination of intelligence, education, heart, and political experience that we need in our elected leaders. As a Bonny Doon resident of over four decades, I’ve appreciated her attention to and support of CZU fire survivors. My wife and I twice drove Shebreh around in our community, so she could see our roads, institutions, fire damage, and neighborhoods. She understands how the County can improve disaster planning and response. It’s been over a decade since a woman has served on the Board of Supervisors—a troublesome diversity gap. Shebreh’s educational, professional, and political credentials, along with her voice as a mother, will improve policymaking for those who need it most. It’s no wonder she was endorsed by retiring Supervisor Ryan Coonerty. Let’s elect her June 7.
